Malaysia Visa Processing Time
Understanding the timeline: from your application to immigration approval. Important information to prevent delays and confusion.
Why Processing Time Matters
Many visa applicants misunderstand how processing time works. They submit an application to us and assume the approval will arrive within the stated timeframe. However, this is a common source of confusion and delays.
Important: Processing Time Doesn't Start When You Submit to Us
Processing time begins only when your application is successfully submitted to the Malaysia Immigration Department portal. The time between when you submit to us and when we submit to Immigration is NOT counted as processing time.
How Processing Time Actually Works
You Submit to Us
Your application is received by our team for initial processing.
Our Vetting & Review (Not Counted)
We review your documents, verify completeness, and request any missing documents. This time is NOT part of official processing time.
We Submit to Immigration
Once your documents are complete and verified, we submit your application to Malaysia Immigration portal.
Official Processing Begins (Counted)
THIS is when the stated processing time begins. Immigration has full control of your application.
Stage 1: Our Responsibility
Collecting Required Documents
We collect all necessary documents from you and ensure they meet Immigration requirements.
Reviewing Documents
We thoroughly review all documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Immigration standards.
Submitting to Immigration
Once everything is verified and complete, we submit your application to the Malaysia Immigration Department portal.
What Causes Delays in Stage 1?
- Missing or incomplete documents from your side
- Delayed document submission after our request
- Poor quality or illegible documents requiring resubmission
- Documents not meeting Immigration standards
Check Your Email Regularly
We will email you if additional documents or corrections are needed. Please check your inbox and spam/junk folder frequently.
Missing these emails can significantly delay your application.
Stage 2: Malaysia Immigration Processing
Processing Time Starts Now
The stated processing time (Regular: 5-7 working days, Express: 2-3 working days) begins from this moment.
Immigration Has Full Control
Your application is now entirely under the Malaysia Immigration Department's control. We cannot influence, speed up, interfere, or expedite the process.
Our Role During Immigration Processing
We only:
- Monitor your application status
- Forward any Immigration requests for additional documents
- Send you the approval or rejection notice when received
Processing Time Can Vary
The Malaysia Immigration Department may take longer than the stated timeframe. This is completely beyond our control. Possible reasons include:
- High volume of applications at Immigration
- Additional background verification required
- System maintenance or technical issues at Immigration
- Public holidays affecting processing schedules
Continue Checking Your Email
Immigration may request additional documents or information during processing. We will forward these requests via email immediately.
Always check spam/junk folder to avoid missing important communications.
Repeated Follow-up Emails Won't Help
Sending multiple follow-up emails or inquiries during immigration processing will not speed up or change the approval timeline. The immigration system processes applications in order without exceptions.
Important Guidelines for Your Visa Application
Plan Your Travel Dates Carefully
Do not book your flights or accommodation before calculating the complete timeline:
Example Timeline:
- • Day 1-3: You submit documents to us
- • Day 3-4: We request additional documents (example)
- • Day 4-5: You resubmit corrected documents
- • Day 5: We submit to Immigration
- • Day 5-12: Immigration processes (5-7 working days)
- • Total: Up to 12 days or more
Best Practices
- 1Submit complete and accurate documents on first attempt to avoid delays
- 2Check spam/junk folder daily for our communications
- 3Respond immediately if we request additional documents or clarifications
- 4Plan travel dates only after you receive approval
- 5Add 2-3 extra days to your calculations as buffer
Processing Time Reference
Remember: These times start AFTER we submit your complete application to the Malaysia Immigration Department, not when you submit to us.
| Processing Type | Timeframe | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Regular Processing | 5-7 Working Days | USD $95 |
| Express Processing | 2-3 working days | USD $150 |
Note: These timeframes are estimates after submission to Immigration. Actual processing times may vary based on Immigration Department workload and requirements.
